Two days later, Yarlinn and Xiazu came to send the two off.
Bochung, carrying his luggage, patted Yarlinn on the shoulder. “What you and Xiazu need most is a sincere conversation, not to keep dragging it out.”
Yarlinn awkwardly smiled, “Boss, I understand.” He had wanted to talk to Xiazu for a long time, but Xiazu never gave him the chance; every time he tried to bring it up, Xiazu would change the subject.
Anqi Luo hugged Xiazu gently. “After the Beast Tide passes, I’ll invite you both to have some fun with me and Yadonis.” After saying this, Anqi Luo added meaningfully, “Maybe you won’t need our invitation; perhaps you’ll come by yourselves next year.”
Xiazu didn’t say anything, biting his lip and smiling. “You said maybe.”
Bo Cheng took out a dozen student IDs from his storage ring and handed them to Yarlinn. “It seems I won’t have the chance to take them to the Dark Forest; please return these to them for me.”
Yarlinn accepted them, laughing. “They probably won’t remember; after all, the school rarely uses student IDs. Unless they’re pointed out, no one cares whether they still have them or not.”
After parting ways, Bochung and Anqi Luo got into a military vehicle, setting off with over a hundred male beastman lieutenants and their partners, selected from the Beastman Academy.
It was said that soldiers had to find their own way to the army gate, which, in comparison, made the treatment of lieutenants seem much better.
Five hours later, the vehicle arrived at the imposing gate of the military, where the male beastmen helped their female partners disembark.
Higher-ranking officers came over to direct them to line up, while the officer’s female beastman partner took the new female recruits to another location.
As Anqi Luo left, he kept looking back at him, and Bochung reassuringly nodded at him to indicate he needn’t worry.
The captain said, “Stand at attention! Ease up! Let’s introduce ourselves. My name is Oles, rank Captain, and I’m responsible for your training before the Beast Tide arrives! In school, you were all delicate flowers, but here, it’s different! No matter how you were before, every day from now on, you will face wind, sand, frost, and snow! Every drop of sweat you shed here is to ensure you survive the Beast Tide!”
After Captain Oles shouted a few sentences, he immediately led them to training.
The large training grounds could accommodate thousands of beastmen at once, divided into several blocks for different types of training for the male beastmen.
That evening, Bochung returned to the assigned dormitory with his key card, exhausted with energy spent. His clothes had long been soaked with sweat, and not wanting to disturb Anqi Luo, he took a shower and came back wrapped in a towel.
He hung his washed clothes on the balcony rack, not seeing Anqi Luo.
“Anqi Luo?”
“I’m right here, Yadonis!” Anqi Luo crawled out from inside the closet; the wardrobe was too spacious for him, similar to the bed, and he could sleep inside without a problem.
Water droplets fell from Bochung’s hair, trailing down his shoulder blades, flowing past his eight abdominal muscles, disappearing beneath a small piece of fabric.
Anqi Luo swallowed hard, suddenly feeling a bit nervous. “Yadonis, what do you want from me?”
Bochung sat casually on the edge of the bed, his legs spread, thick hair covering his calves. “I’ve used up all my energy.”
Bochung tilted his chin toward Anqi Luo. “Baby, I’ve missed you so much in just one day. Before I recover my energy, can you reward me with a pure kiss?”
Anqi Luo walked over, and Bochung tilted his head, his handsome face turned toward Anqi Luo, eyes sparkling. Standing in front of him, Anqi Luo felt the heat of Bochung’s hands at his waist and blushed, “Close your eyes first.”
It had been a long time since they last kissed, and Anqi Luo felt a little shy.
Bochung obediently closed his eyes, his eyelashes casting a faint shadow on his cheeks.
He felt Anqi Luo slowly come closer, and soon, soft lips pressed against his. Bochung gently extended his tongue, outlining the shape of their lips.
Anqi Luo felt a tingle and opened his mouth unconsciously; Bochung took the opportunity to intertwine their tongues. “Mmm~” Saliva flowed out, un-swallowed, as they parted with a soft “pop,” a silken strand connecting their lips.
Anqi Luo’s legs became weak, unable to stand, so Bochung simply lifted him into his arms.
“Your kissing skills are getting better, Baby; I almost didn’t want to let you go just now.” Bochung’s husky voice whispered in Anqi Luo’s ear.
Anqi Luo’s earlobes flushed red; feeling shy, he fidgeted. “Is there progress? We’ve only practiced a few times, right?”
“Did you practice in your dreams?”
Anqi Luo quickly shook his head. “How could that be? Who would do that in their dreams?” Why were they talking about such embarrassing topics?
“I’ll help you regain your energy.” Anqi Luo wriggled free from Bochung’s arms and motioned for Bochung to lower his head. Much like the first time they had done under the camphor tree, a soft blue glow surrounded them, and soon, Bochung’s expended energy was replenished.
Bochung wrapped his arms around Anqi Luo’s waist. “Today I asked other male beastmen. Their female partners usually take at least half an hour to replenish energy, but you only take five minutes. You must be a genius, right?”
Anqi Luo was surprised. “How could that be? I just have a slightly better memory than others, and as for how fast I replenish energy… I never noticed.”
Bochung laughed. “With a strong support like Anqi Luo, believing that I will soon be promoted to Marshal is easy.”
After a month of training, each lieutenant was assigned ten soldiers, and the following month consisted of them training alongside their own soldiers.
The Beast Tide was chaotic; the beasts would not form ranks and would charge in hordes. If they could develop better combat strategies, their kill efficiency and survival rates would surely improve.
For Bochung, the most pressing issue was not only hunting the beasts during the wave but also ensuring the safety of his squad of ten.
To that end, Bochung came up with a great idea—improving speed.
As long as one could run fast, survival would not be a concern. Whether or not they killed the beasts didn’t matter; staying alive was the most important.
Chapter 93: Beastmen Treasure Their Wealth
The next day, countless male beastmen witnessed a miraculous scene on the training ground—a male white tiger beastman roaring angrily as he chased behind, while ten or so monkeys, crocodiles, black bears, antlered deer, and goats desperately fled ahead.
